The First Years Wave Stroller, Urban Life
My job of reviewing strollers means that I am always in demand when it comes to helping friends, relatives or neighbors who are choosing a new stroller. Our new neighbor happened to be searching for a baby stroller for her third boy and she knew I would most likely be able to supply her with some good tips on what to look our for and which models to purchase. At the top of her list of features was a stroller which could handle a great deal of use simply because they love to be outdoors a good deal.
As it happens I was about to review the latest stroller from The First Years – the Wave stroller, and I told her that I would let her know the outcome. As soon as my friend had read the notes that I had compiled for my review article she had no hesitation in choosing The First Years Wave Stroller. I am please to say that she is delighted with her purchase as it is probably the best stroller on the market for the bargain price.
I was pleased that her experience with it has so far been very favorable and as a result I have given it a 5 star rating and would recommend it to anybody searching for a baby stroller.

A Luxury Stroller Minus the Luxury Price
There really is a feeling of luxury when you see a baby in this stroller. The level of comfort is just what is needed to give your baby a super ride no matter what the terrain is like. The stroller has additional padding, that can be removed if you want, and this makes things even more comfortable. The fabric can be wiped so making it easy to keep clean. Maneuvering it is a breeze as well. You can easily just use one hand, which shows just how well this stroller has been designed because it is not the smallest on the block, but it certainly doesn’t feel big when you are pushing it. It is very easy to move around even on dirt, gravel paths or on long grass.
The First Years Wave Stroller has many great features. It would take a lot more space than I have here to list all the pros of this stroller, all I can do here is provide a brief snapshot.
Reversible Seat
This is one of the strongest features of The First Years Wave stroller. You only need twist the handle so there is no more lifting the entire seat. There are multiple reclining positions, including flat for a sleeping child or newborns. In less than one minute you can turn it from a seat to basinet and you don’t have to carry any extras to do it. There are of course many other strollers available that have a reversible seat such as, the Kontours 3 wheel stroller, Graco Flip It Reversible, Mia Moda and even the cheaper First Years Indigo. These strollers however require you to remove the seat completely in order to flip it around so that you have to disturb your child because the seat needs to be empty. With the Wave stroller you simply twist the knob on the center of the handle, and lift the handle upright, turn the seat, and lower the handle back in position and it is done. This feature is great in the summer if you want to protect your baby from the sun.
Strong Lockable Wheels
The front swivel wheels lock very easily. They are made of rubber so that they won’t go flat. The wheels are 7″ diameter in the front and 11″ diameter in the rear which provides the extra maneuverability and stability you need on rough or sloping ground. The brake is very easy to apply; you can even do it barefoot.
Large Canopy
The First Years Wave Stroller comes with a huge canopy, which can also be removed if necessary. It is adjustable and is ideal when you are out and about in strong sunshine. It has peek-a-boo window so you can always see your child.
Good Safety Features
There is five-point harness and this will fit a child up to 50 lbs and/or 40 inches tall. The adjustable handle is great to push for taller and shorter people alike. The car seat attachment that comes with the stroller accepts most Chicco and Graco infant car seats and comes at no extra cost. It certainly works great with Graco SnugRide and Chicco KeyFit car seats. The attachment snaps right into the base and the seat is secured on top of it.
A Sturdy Design That Looks Good As Well
Most people comment that The First Years Wave Stroller looks even better in real life than in the pictures. It is very easy to assemble when you take it out of the box. It also feels as sturdy as it looks, which is impressive considering the price that it is available at.
This is a stroller that is durable and comfortable at the same time. You could describe The Wave as a seat within a seat in that it changes easily from a bassinet for the infant to a toddler seat.
