When choosing a new stroller it is easy to be attracted to the colors or the general look of the stroller. This is only natural as you will be using it outdoors for several years and you want it to look good. It is easy to overlook the fact that the nicest looking stroller might not necessarily be the best one for you. For example it might be too cumbersome and difficult to maneuver, or it might be uncomfortable for your child.
Safety should always be the main concern, followed by comfort and ease of use. If I had to pick a new stroller model that ticks all the right boxes, it would have to be the G-Luxe Stroller made by UPPAbaby. This umbrella stroller is also one that you won’t mind taking everywhere because it looks great too.
There are some good deals at the moment, which make it difficult to beat in terms of value for money.

New Model is the Best Lightweight Umbrella Stroller on the Market
When UPPAbaby updated their G-Luxe stroller they turned an already good stroller into the best available on the market of its type. With the deeper, more comfortable seat and the improved sunshade, it has become a product that is difficult to find fault with. In all my reviews I try to take a balanced look at the pros and cons but as you will see, there are so many great things about the G-Luxe that pointing out a couple of minor things would in my view be picky.
One way to determine how good a product is the G-Luxe is to compare it to the perceived market leader, Maclaren. If you ever get the chance to test drive them you will see that there are several important areas where the G-Luxe is superior. For example the design is better suited to being pushed by taller people, the Maclarens such as the Quest and Triumph are quite uncomfortable for tall people to push and also your feet tend to kick the back of the stroller easily. One of the best points in favor of the G-Luxe is the fact that it stands up on its own when it is folded, which helps an awful lot when you are waiting for a bus or just when you want to stand it up without it leaning against something. It also reclines to multiple positions rather than 3 to 5 fixed positions. There’s also the fact that the G-Luxe has a larger sun shade and the all-important cup holder. When you add the fact that the G-Luxe is cheaper vs. the Maclarens then you see that it really does stand out in terms of value.
Excellent Design and Ergonomics
The designers at UPPAbaby obviously spent a lot of time thinking out the design of the G-Luxe. It is both lightweight and durable due to the good materials and build quality. Durability is an important factor and you can be assured that this stroller will withstand rough streets, being thrown into the back of the car, bad weather, mud and so on and will still look great when it is cleaned up.
The ergonomics are also great and it is easy to push and maneuver whether you are 5’2″ or 6’2″. The hand grips are nice to hold and it is easy to make it turn on a dime even with one-handed steering. It also has a shoulder strap which is a fantastic feature that leaves your hands free when you need to carry it.
Weighing in at only 11lbs it could be described as a super lightweight stroller. This is amazingly light when you consider all the features it has such as a reclining seat and large storage area under the seat.
Comfortable and Safe
The reclining seat is what sets this lightweight umbrella stroller from the others. It is essential to have a reclining seat really if you want to provide the best possible comfort for your child. You can choose to have your baby deeply reclined when sleeping, fully upright when alert and looking around, or anywhere in between. The reclining mechanism is simple to use and reliable.
For maximum safety the G-Luxe has a five-point harness. It is very easy to adjust the straps to the appropriate length for your baby and the latch/unlatch mechanism is simple to use.
Like most things on the G-Luxe, the umbrella shade is also adjustable. You can select from one of three fixed positions and its size means that your baby will be well protected.
